The charger that comes with most EVs (Level 1) plugs into a standard 120V outlet and delivers about 3-5 miles of range per hour of charging. That means overnight charging might only give you 30-40 miles. A Level 2 charger runs on 240V (like your dryer outlet) and delivers 25-40 miles of range per hour — a full battery overnight, every night.
First, we assess your electrical panel to determine if it has capacity for a dedicated 240V, 40-50 amp circuit. If your panel needs an upgrade, we can handle both jobs at once. We then run the circuit from your panel to your preferred charger location (usually in the garage), mount the charging unit, and test everything. We pull the necessary electrical permit and schedule inspection. Most residential installations are completed in a single day.
An EV charger typically requires a dedicated 50-amp circuit. If your panel is already near capacity, we may recommend a panel upgrade to 200-amp service, or we can install a smart load management device that shares capacity with other large circuits like your dryer or AC.
